The Globe Theatre

The globe theatre was an Elizabethan theatre. It was built around the year 1599 in London, It was one of the main theatres in the area. It is well known for Shakespeare’s for staging several of Shakespeare’s first plays. The original Globe theatre was burn’t down in 1613 and was immediately rebuilt. In year 1644 it was closed down again! And a new Globe theatre was created! Some of the differences between the plays performed in the 1600’s and productions today are  during the play the audience would drink, eat and talk throughout the performance. Today people aren’t allowed to do most of those things. There was natural lighting (So the plays were performed in daytime), Most productions today are performed at night. Women never performed but today women are usually main parts of productions. Plays didn’t really use any scenery instead used language to set the scene, where as nowadays productions have plenty of props and scenery.
